LONG RANGE COLLABORATIVE PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION UPDATE

Long-Range Planning and Implementation continues in the Catholic community of Webster County.  Due to the scope and complexity of issues confronted by the Facilities Commission, the Holy Trinity Parish Council has authorized the Commission to seek input from a qualified architectural/engineering firm.  The Facilities Commission will present several architectural/engineering firms in the local area, and in the Midwest with a Request for Proposal (RFP) concerning the feasibility of the future use of existing church buildings, versus the feasibility of potentially building a new structure.  Once a qualified architectural/engineering firm is retained to conduct this study, it is anticipated that the process will take four to six months for the feasibility study to be completed. During this time, we will also continue work in the areas of Administration/Finance and Spirituality.  We will be conducting town hall style meetings as we move closer to resolutions to gain parish involvement and input.

LONG RANGE COLLABORATIVE PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION

Long-Range Planning and Implementation continues in the Catholic community of Webster County.  In 2007 and 2008, a Long-Range Collaborative Planning process was conducted with participation and input from both Holy Trinity Parish staff and parishioners, and St. Edmond School staff and parents. Hundreds of individuals devoted many hours of time to create the foundation and process to develop a new comprehensive Plan for Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and the St. Edmond Catholic schools. The Long-Range Collaborative Planning process culminated in a day long Convocation open to all to provide input to identify the challenges which face us all and the proposed solutions to solve those challenges.

A Central Task Force has been established to govern the implementation process of the Long-Range Collaborative Plan. This Central Task Force is comprised of laypersons Tom Chalstrom, Peg Rodenborn, Pat Goedken, Steve Kersten and Tim O’Tool. The Central Task Force also includes the three priests in the Holy Trinity Parish including Msgr. Kevin McCoy, Fr. Lynn Bruch, Fr. Sunny Dominic, and St. Edmond School President Sister Delores Hannon.

To proceed with the implementation phase of the Long Range Collaborative process, the following commissions have been established:

A.  Spiritual Life- Chairperson Peg Rodenborn with members Jean Doyle, Jane Condon, Liz Griffin, Barb Thompson, Deanna Yetmar, Patti Carlson, Ann Schulte, Sam Lennon, Candi Streit and Teresa Brown.

B. Administration/Finance- Chairman Tom Chalstrom with members Mike Engler, John Taets, JoAnn Sandvig, Jim Moench, Kevin Black and Mark Thompson.

C. Buildings/Facilities- Commission Chairman Pat Goedken with members Keith Kolacia, Don Halligan, Mike Anderson, Barney Patterson, Jamie Bemrich, Matt Cosgrove, Tom Vogt and Rich Allen.

D.  Marketing - Commission Co-Chairs Steve Kersten and Tim O’Tool.

These commissions have been working and will continue to work toward implementing the solutions identified and voted upon at the Convocation previously held. The results of the Convocation held on April 25, 2008 can be found at the Quick Links section on the left of this page.

LONG RANGE COLLABORATIVE PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION UPDATE- SCHEDULED TOWN HALL MEETINGS DELAYED

The Long Range Planning and Implementation Central Task Force has been diligently working since last fall. The Buildings & Facilities Commission has determined that is necessary to seek input and advice from architectural experts regarding the future of buildings and facilities in our Holy Trinity Parish. The feasibility of using existing facilities versus the potential for building new needs to be explored with input from architectural experts. Because this will take more time than originally anticipated, the Town Hall Meetings previously scheduled for February 5, 2009 and March 31, 2009 are postponed. The Town Hall Meetings will be scheduled in the future.
